I waited all year to get together with my friends for our annual golf vacation. It was supposed to be perfect, but we bought “the package” and our outing turned out to be simply adequate. We all had such high hopes, but we had to take what the package provided.

Another beautiful day, out on the golf course, and I’m feeling like a million bucks wearing my bright yellow golf shirt, and the girl I want to meet, is just a golf hole ahead of me.

There she goes, off the tee box. Right down the middle of the fairway on number 2 hole. The last time I was out here, she faded it right into the bunker, just next to my favorite ball placement. I missed my golden opportunity to meet her at that time. I pull hooked the ball on the opposite side of the fairway.

Many of us recall old movie images of golfers in plaid pants, sweater vests, billed caps, and other stereotypical apparel of golfing lore. While clothing on golf courses has changed over the years, proper golf apparel is still expected. And the greater the prestige of the golf club, the greater the expectation you will abide by their dress code.

Golf is a great game. There are millions of players around the world and they all speak the same language as far as the game is concerned. Driving the ball, putting, chipping or landing in the sand bunker may be all said differently in various countries but it all relates in the same way… delight, anger or frustration on how the day is going!
